1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how Proscapes Landscape Gardening (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses them on our website at proscapeslandscapegardening.co.uk (“Website”), and how you can control them.

This policy is issued in accordance with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR). Please read it alongside our Privacy Policy.

2. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, improve user experience, and provide information to website owners.

Cookies can be:

• Session cookies — temporary files that are deleted when you close your browser.
• Persistent cookies — files that remain on your device for a set period, or until you delete them.
• First-party cookies — set by the website you are visiting.
• Third-party cookies — set by a domain other than the website you are visiting (e.g. analytics or social media platforms).

3. Cookies We Use

We use the following categories of cookies on our Website:

3.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the Website to function correctly. They enable core functionality such as security, network management, and accessibility. You cannot opt out of these cookies as the Website cannot function properly without them.

Examples include cookies that remember your consent preferences and session security cookies.

3.2 Performance and Analytics Cookies

These cookies collect information about how visitors use our Website, for example which pages are visited most often and whether visitors receive error messages. All information collected is aggregated and therefore anonymous. It is only used to improve how the Website works.

We may use services such as Google Analytics for this purpose. Google Analytics sets cookies to help us analyse site traffic and usage. Data collected may include your IP address (anonymised), browser type, pages visited and session duration. This data is processed in accordance with Google’s Privacy Policy.

3.3 Functionality Cookies

These cookies allow the Website to remember choices you make (such as your preferred language or region) and provide enhanced, more personalised features. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we have added to our pages.

3.4 Marketing and Targeting Cookies

These cookies are used to deliver advertisements that are more relevant to you and your interests. They may also be used to limit the number of times you see an advertisement and help measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.

We will only place marketing cookies with your explicit prior consent.

4. Consent

In accordance with PECR and UK GDPR, we will obtain your consent before placing any non-essential cookies on your device. When you first visit our Website, a cookie consent banner will be displayed, giving you the option to:

• Accept all cookies
• Reject non-essential cookies
• Customise your cookie preferences by category

Your preferences will be saved in a consent cookie so you are not asked again on each visit. You can change your preferences at any time — see Section 5 below.

Strictly necessary cookies do not require your consent as they are essential for the Website to operate.

5. How to Control Cookies

6. Third-Party Cookies

Some pages of our Website may include content from third parties, such as social media platforms (e.g. Facebook, Instagram), map services, or embedded videos. These third parties may place their own cookies on your device. We have no control over these cookies and recommend that you review the cookie and privacy policies of the relevant third parties.

7. Cookie Retention Periods
